Two sizes, one drawn over the other at true relative scale. Each page gives the extra width in centimetres, the extra screen area as a percentage, and the spaces that take one but not the other.

Why a step up is always bigger than it sounds

Screens are sold by the diagonal, but what you see is the area, and area grows roughly as the square of the diagonal. A five inch step near the middle of the range adds around a fifth more picture, not a twentieth. That is the number each comparison leads with, and it is the reason a size that sounds like a small upgrade often will not fit the space the old one did.
