We collect nothing about you.

What the site does with what you type

Your desk width, your wall zone, how far back you sit — all of it stays in the page. The calculators keep their state in the address bar, which is what makes a setup shareable, and the drawing is computed on your own device.

• Nothing is sent to us. There is no form, no submission and no endpoint. The site is served as static files.
• One thing is stored on your device. Whether you prefer centimetres or inches, under the key displayscale:unit. It never leaves your browser, and clearing site data removes it.
• A shared link contains what you typed. When you copy a link to a setup, the dimensions travel in the URL. That is how the person opening it sees the same desk — so treat sending one as publishing those numbers.
• Downloading the drawing happens locally. The image is built in your browser and saved by it. Nothing is uploaded.
• No fonts or scripts are loaded from third parties to make the site work — the typefaces are served from this domain, not from a font network. The one exception is advertising, below.

There is no analytics

Not “anonymised analytics”, not “privacy-friendly analytics”. The site runs none: no page-view counter, no session recording, no heatmap, no A/B test. We do not know which sizes you looked at, and we would have to add something to find out.

Advertising, and what Google does

This site carries advertising served by Google AdSense (publisher ca-pub-9104897124051185). That is the one part of the page we do not compute ourselves, and it is the one part that involves anybody collecting anything.

• Google and its partners use cookies, or similar identifiers, to serve and measure ads. That can include ads based on your previous visits to this or other websites.
• That information goes to Google, not to us. We never see it, and we have no way to connect it to anything you did on this site.
• You can turn off personalised advertising at Google Ads Settings, and read what Google does with the data at How Google uses information from sites that use our services.
• Third-party vendors listed at aboutads.info/choices can also be opted out of individually.

Blocking cookies, or using an ad blocker, does not break anything here. Every calculator works exactly the same way with the advertising blocked, because none of the arithmetic depends on it.

Hosting

The site is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. Delivering a web page necessarily involves your browser making a request, and a host handling it — that is true of every website, and it is the only processing that happens on our side of the wire. We do not run a server that reads those requests back, and we keep no record of them.

Your rights, and why there is little to exercise them on

Under UK and EU data protection law you may ask a company what it holds about you, and ask for it to be corrected or deleted. In our case the honest answer to the first question is “nothing”, which makes the other two straightforward. For the advertising data Google holds, Google is the controller and its own policy and controls apply.

If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it.
