DisplayScale is free to use, with no account and no sign-up. Using it means you agree to the terms on this page.

What the site is
DisplayScale is a set of calculators and a visualizer that help you see what a monitor or TV size looks like in your own space. It is free, it needs no account, and every measurement you enter is processed in your own browser.
What you may do with what it produces
You may use, print and share the drawings, verdicts and size tables this site produces, for any purpose, including commercial ones. What you may not do is copy a size table wholesale — scraping or bulk-downloading the catalogue to republish it as your own reference — rather than using the tool itself.
Acceptable use
Do not attack the site, attempt to disrupt it, or use automated requests against it beyond ordinary browsing. Do not present the site, or content generated by it, as coming from somewhere else.
Sizes are estimates
Every dimension this site draws — bezels, stand depths, stand heights, foot spans — is a typical value for a size class, not a specification for any particular model. The site is provided “as is”, without warranty of any kind, express or implied. Before you buy or mount a screen, check its own spec sheet.
Liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, DisplayScale and whoever operates it are not liable for any loss or damage arising from using the site, from being unable to use it, or from a purchase or mounting decision made using its estimates. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited, including liability for gross negligence, fraud, or death or personal injury caused by negligence, and nothing here removes rights you have under the Consumer Protection Act or under mandatory consumer law where you live.

Where this site links elsewhere — including to Google’s advertising controls, or to a manufacturer’s own spec sheet — that destination is not ours, we do not vet it on an ongoing basis, and we are not responsible for its content.
Trademarks
THX, SMPTE, ANSI/HFES 100 and Apple are trademarks of their respective owners. They are used here only to name viewing-distance and ergonomics standards and a display marketing term the calculators reference. This site is independent and is not affiliated with, endorsed by or connected to any of them.

Nothing here is medical advice; if a screen gives you persistent strain, see an optometrist.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of the Republic of South Africa, and the courts of South Africa have non-exclusive jurisdiction. If you live elsewhere, any consumer protection that the law of your country gives you and that cannot be excluded still applies.
